We’re excited to partner with the Village of Orland Hills to offer expert-led Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction to the community! Our program is designed to teach children essential skills like anti-bullying, self-defense, confidence, and discipline—all in a safe and engaging environment. Classes will start May 5th and will take place every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30PM - 6:30PM!

How do I sign up?
To sign up, simply click the "Click Here to Sign Up" button located at both the top and bottom of this page. You’ll be directed to a registration form where you can fill out your details and complete the required waiver. Once your registration is submitted, you’ll receive an email confirmation along with a receipt, and you’ll be added to the list of participants. We look forward to welcoming you!
Are there age requirements for the classes?
Our classes are intended for children ages 5 to 13. If your child is outside this age range, please reach out to us, as we may consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
What do I need to do before the session starts?
Before the session begins, make sure to complete your registration through the "Click Here to Sign Up" button on this page.This will ensure you're added to the list of participants. Additionally, please make sure to review the welcome email you’ll receive after registering, as it will include important information about the program, safety guidelines, and what to expect. Don’t forget to have your child wear comfortable athletic attire for their first class, which will be detailed better in the next question.
How much is the program?
Parents who are Orland Hills residents, veterans, or first responders can enroll their child for just $135 per session, while the fee for non-residents is $165. These discounted rates are our way of giving back and supporting both our local community and those who serve at all levels.
How can you ensure a safe training environment for my child?
Ensuring a safe training environment is our top priority.Our instructors are trained not only in martial arts techniques but also in creating a secure and respectful space for every student. We always have a CPR-certified instructor present on the mats during class to provide immediate care if needed. Additionally, all of our instructors go through Safe Sport training to ensure they are equipped to handle any potential concerns related to the safety and well-being of your child. We adhere to strict safety protocols,including proper warm-ups, technique instruction, and consistent supervision.Our commitment to maintaining a clean, well-equipped facility and fostering a positive, respectful culture ensures that your child can train with confidence.
Where are your classes held?
Our classes are held at the Orland Hills Recreation Center,located at 16553 Haven Ave, Cook County, IL 60487, inside the gymnasium. The facility provides a spacious and well-equipped environment for all our training sessions.
Do I need to sign up in advance to attend a class?

When is the first day of the program? / What does the schedule look like?
The program will begin on Monday, May 5th with an introductory class that will cover important safety tips for the rest of the session. Please note, there will be no class on Wednesday, May 7th. Starting on Monday, May 12th, classes will take place every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30PM to 6:30 PM, and will run through July 2nd. We’re excited to kick off this session and look forward to seeing you on the mats!
What should my child wear for their first day of class?
For their first day of class, your child should wear comfortable athletic attire, such as a t-shirt and athletic shorts or leggings.This will allow them to move freely and participate fully in the class. As they progress, additional gear will be optional, but for beginners, this simple attire is perfect.
Are your classes open to beginners?
Yes, our classes are designed to be welcoming and inclusive for participants of all skill levels, including beginners. Whether your child is new to martial arts or has some prior experience, they will receive the guidance and support they need to progress at their own pace. Our instructors are experienced in teaching fundamental techniques, ensuring that every participant feels comfortable and confident as they learn.
How long are the classes?
Each class in our program is one hour long. This allows ample time to cover important techniques, practice drills, and receive personalized instruction, ensuring that students of all levels can learn and improve effectively. The 60-minute format is structured to provide a balanced training experience while keeping the sessions engaging and focused.
